About Dr. Hull

Before founding New England Medicine Direct Primary Care, I spent my career in academic internal medicine and clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Over time, I found myself increasingly constrained by the realities of insurance-based primary care—and by the long timelines of research—when what I valued most was the day-to-day work of caring for patients with depth, continuity, and attention. I also missed being able to invest locally: to know my patients well, to show up consistently, and to feel part of the community I call home—things that were difficult to sustain in my prior role.

After a period of reflection, I chose to build a practice that aligns with what I find most fulfilling: relationship-based medicine close to home, with the time and access required to do it well.

My academic background still matters here. It trained me to be rigorous with evidence, to think critically about new tests and treatments, and to coordinate effectively with specialists and hospital teams. New England Medicine is the result: a small, modern primary care practice designed for thorough care, clear communication, and long-term partnership—so patients feel known, supported, and cared for over time.
